Meet the Founder
If someone had told me ten years ago that I’d be sitting here as the founder of my own marketing agency, I probably would have laughed nervously while clutching my financial spreadsheets. You see, my journey to Shift Happens Marketing hasn’t been the traditional path you might expect, and honestly, that’s what makes me so passionate about helping other businesses navigate their own unexpected turns and transformations.
My story begins in the structured world of finance, where I spent my early career analyzing numbers and building models that made perfect sense on paper. But here’s the thing, even while I was deep in financial data, I couldn’t shake this burning curiosity about what drove people to make decisions. Why did customers choose one brand over another? What invisible forces influenced their loyalty? This wasn’t just casual curiosity; it was rooted in my undergraduate degree in Psychology, where I first fell in love with understanding human behavior. Later, my MBA gave me the strategic framework to bridge that psychological insight with business reality, though I didn’t fully realize how powerful this combination would become.

For years, I channeled this passion into digital marketing roles at various companies and agencies, working with everyone from major international brands to passionate local business owners across the country and beyond. Each campaign taught me something new about authentic connection, each client challenge pushed me to innovate, and every success story reinforced my belief that great marketing happens when strategy meets genuine human understanding. But I wasn’t just executing campaigns. I was teaching and mentoring others, sharing knowledge with over 50 professionals who trusted me to help them grow in this field. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about watching someone’s eyes light up when they finally grasp a complex strategy or see their first major campaign succeed.
Then life threw me a curveball that, looking back, was exactly what
I needed. After six and a half years with a company I’d grown to love, I was unexpectedly laid off. The shock was real. One day I was planning strategies, the next I was updating my resume and questioning everything. But here’s what surprised me: I found new work quickly, and it was genuinely amazing. Great team, interesting projects, solid compensation. By all external measures, I should have been thrilled. Instead, I found myself lying awake at night, staring at the ceiling, knowing deep in my heart that something was missing.
That restless feeling wasn’t about the job, it was about me. I realized I was playing it safe, following someone else’s playbook instead of writing my own. I had spent years helping other companies build their dreams while my own vision of creating something meaningful kept getting pushed to “someday.” The layoff hadn’t been a setback; it had been a wake-up call. I was meant for more than just being really good at making other people’s businesses successful. I was meant to pour my heart into helping brands transform in ways that truly mattered.
So I made the leap. I ditched the corporate safety net to build Shift Happens Marketing from the ground up, and it’s been the most terrifying and exhilarating decision of my life. Now, when you work with me, you’re not just hiring another marketing person. You’re partnering with someone who understands what it feels like to take risks for your dreams, who combines psychological insight with strategic expertise, and who believes deeply that every brand deserves hands-on attention from someone who’s genuinely invested in their success. The Meaning Behind The Name
The name “Shift Happens Marketing” was born from my own whirlwind of transformation. But it represents something much deeper than just my personal journey.
In marketing, shifts truly do happen, and they happen fast. We’ve witnessed incredible changes in recent years, especially with the rise of AI transforming everything from content creation to customer targeting and analytics.
I’ve made it my mission to stay ahead of these shifts, constantly learning and adapting to ensure my clients aren’t just keeping up with change, they’re leveraging it.
The name embodies both the reality that change is inevitable in business and marketing, and my commitment to helping brands navigate these shifts strategically rather than reactively. Because when you’re prepared for change and have the right partner by your side, shift doesn’t just happen to you, it happens for you.
